In G.B.F., the three most popular girls in school are after the hottest trend of the year — a Gay Best Friend. Brent Van Camp, played by Paul Iacono, has plans to finally come out as gay and skyrocket to rockstar status as a G.B.F. (Check out my Fanhattan interview with Paul too!) Brent’s best friend Tanner, played by Michael J. Willett, is accidentally outed to the school instead. Now instead of staying under the radar for the rest of senior year, Tanner is being pursued by queen bee Fawcett (Sasha Pieterse), musical diva Caprice (Xosha Roquemore), and goody-two shoes ‘Shley (Andrea Bowen) who believe that whoever he is best friends with will be a shoe in for prom queen. Of course, there’s also Soledad (Joanna “JoJo” Levesque) who hopes Tanner will be the first actually gay member of their school’s Gay-Straight Alliance.
